Hello Birgitta, 

I absolutely have a nice time with you and good musicfriends in Salzburg. This years eventement contain a bigger group and even more international and inter-continental participants including people from Mexico, Argentina, Japan in addition to European singerfriends. That was really amaising and I get a lot of new contacts. I really have to brush up my spainish (and perhaps also other language) to conversate more convinient with singer-friends from all over the world next time I am going to visit Salzburg! For me I think you have made a great arrangement and I want to send my heartly thanks to you  and to all of your coordinators for this arrangement. I have not clearly made up my plans for next autumn, but a trip back Salzburg in the start of October as you mentioned could absolutly be actual for me. 

I think it also will be exciting to sing other musical works of Mozart, as the Kroningmesse (KV 317) and more. Perhaps I should bring with me more singers from Norway also like me interested in classical music?

Mozart Festival 2010

Allmählich sind wir, die 85 Leute unserer Gruppe, wieder mit den Füssen auf den Boden.
Es war ein wunderbarer Aufenthalt in Salzburg. Die Teilnahme am Konzert war einmalig sowie das Hochamt am Sonntag, wo wir als Merwe's Oratorium Vereniging die Messe in D Opus 86 von Dvořák unter der Leitung unseres eigenen Dirigenten, gesungen haben.
Es war herrlich und die Mitglieder unseres Chores haben noch sehr viel nach zu reden.
Die Erinnerungen bleiben in unseren Herzen.
Wir alle wollen Cultours, aber Dir, liebe Dagmar ins besonders, auch Dank sagen für die gute Organisation des Konzertes und für alle gute Sorgen für uns.

It was a wonderful stay in Salzburg. The unique participation at the concert and the high mass on Sunday, were we, the Merwe's Oratorium Vereniging sang the mass D Opus 86 by Dvořák under direction of our conductor.
It was magnificent and we talk a lot about these days. The memories stay in our hearts.
We all thank Cultours and special you Dagmar for the good organisation of the concert and your efforts on us.

Das Hotel Scherer habe ich schon weiter empfohlen. Es ist ein sehr persönliches Hotel und der Empfang familiär, so wie ich es gerne habe.

Zauberhafte Momente in Salzburg vom 9. bis 12. Oktober 2008

Für uns alle werden die Tage in Salzburg in bester Erinnerung bleiben. Wir hatten Glück. Kein Regen. Salzburg zeigte sich von der besten Seite. Die Unterkunft hat allen behagt. Die angebotene Stadtführung und der Vortrag über Mozart wurden geschätzt. Die Organisation klappte bestens. Es gab zauberhafte Momente: eine romantische Bach-Trompeten-Interpretation auf dem Platz for dem "Tomaselli" bei Kaffee und Kuchen, der Blick von der Festung über Salzburg mit den vielen Kirchen und der erzbischöflichen Vergangenheit und natürlich der Höhepunkt: das Singen im Salzburger Dom unter der Leitung von Professor Janos Czifra! Im Vorhinein kamen Zweifel auf. Konnte die Aufführung mit nur einer einzigen Probe gelingen? Es funktionierte! Der Chor mit Sängerinnen und Sängern aus Österreich und der Schweiz sowie mit Jose aus Spanien, der sich via Internet diesem Ereignis angeschlossen hatte, brachte Mozarts göttliche Musik im wunderschönen monumentalen Salzburger Dom zum Erklingen. Ein großer Verdienst des Dirigenten und des Domorchesters! Ein unvergessliches Erlebnis. Wir freuen uns schon heute auf eine Fortsetzung. Salzburg ist und bleibt eine Reise wert.

Magic Moments in Salzburg from the 9th to the 12th October,2008

All of us will retain only the best memories of our days in Salzburg. We were lucky in that it didn't rain and Salzburg showed us its best face. We all liked our quarters. The city tour and the lecture about Mozart were much appreciated. The organization worked perfectly. There were really magical moments: a romantic interpretation of a Bach trumpet concerto on the square in front of the Tomaselli café as we had coffee and cake, the view from the fortress with the many churches and the history of the Archdiocese and of course the high point: singing in the Salzburg cathedral under the direction of Professor Janos Czifra! We had had our doubts as to whether it would be possible to perform a concert with only one rehearsal, but it worked! The chorus, with singers from Austria and Switzerland and with Jose from Spain, who learned of the festival through the internet, let Mozart's divine music ring through the beautiful and monumental Salzburg Cathedral. Great credit goes to the conductor and the cathedral orchestra! An unforgettable experience. We look forward to a sequel. Salzburg is always worth a trip.

Zuerst war es das Interesse am Werk und die Tatsache, dass der Konzertchor Biel-Seeland (Schweiz) das Werk schon aufgeführt hatte; dann die Neugier, wie so viele Sängerinnen und Sänger aus der Welt unter einen Hut zu bringen wären, dann auch Skepsis, ob das klappen würde. Aber auch die die freudige Erwartung, Mozarts "Grosse Messe in c-Moll in der Domkirche zu Salzburg, dem Uraufführungsort des grossartigen Werkes zu singen, war für die sieben Sängerinnen des Konzertchors das Ausschlaggebende, nach Salzburg zu fahren.
Wir stellten fest, dass alles aufs beste vorbereitet war, sowohl Unterkunft, Stadtführung, Dombesichtigung, besonders die eindrückliche musikalische Domführung (Orgeln) durch Herrn Prof. Heribert Metzger (Domorganist) und Besichtigungen u.a. Geburtshaus Mozarts, das eine modernisierte, sehr schöne Präsentation darbietet, als auch das Musikalische: In der Erzdiozöse Salzburg, wo geprobt wird, hörten wir den Vortrag und die Kurzeinführung in "Die Entstehungsgeschichte der Grossen Messe Mozarts" von Herrn Hugo Stanka in eingehender Weise. Dann kam die Vorprobe mit dem sehr geduldigen und freundlichen Domkapellmeister Prof. János Czifra. -
Dass man die Hauptprobe und das Konzert so kurz aufeinander abhalten könnte, war für uns ungewohnt und neu. Nicht nur, dass das Werk für die Sängerinnen und Sänger des Chors anspruchsvoll ist, auch die beiden jungen japanischen Solistinnen waren doch sehr gefordert, besonders der Sopran I , der in bewunderungswürdiger Weise zweimal nacheinander den Part virtuos meisterte.
Erstaunlich war der Publikumsaufmarsch am Konzert. Die Domkirche war nahezu voll besetzt.
Alles in allem waren es für uns wahrlich eindrückliche Tage in Salzburg und wir haben zauberhafte Momente erlebt, die noch lange nachklingen werden.
Ein Kranz darf auch den Frauen der Cultours-Europe Salzburg für ihren Einsatz gewunden werden. Sie haben für das Wohl der Gäste in vorbildlicher Weise gesorgt, besonders Frau Dagmar Elsenwenger.

In the beginning it was the interest in the piece itself and the fact that the Concert Chorus of Biel-Seeland (Switzerland) had already performed it; then curiosity as to how it could be possible for so many singers from all over the world to be melded into a whole, and perhaps skepticism as to whether it could be done.
It was also a joyful anticipation of singing Mozart's Great Mass in C minor where it was first performed, in the cathedral in Salzburg, which was the deciding factor for the seven singers from the Concert Chorus to make the journey to Salzburg.
We soon discovered, that everything had been prepared and organized for us: lodging, the city tour, the tour of the cathedral (especially the impressive musical tour of the organs with the cathedral organist Prof. Heribert Metzger), the sightseeing including the birth house of Mozart (with a up to date and beautiful presentation), the rehearsal room of the Archdiocese Salzburg where we heard a detailed lecture from Mr. Hugo Stanka on how this great work came to be. Then came the first rehearsal with the very friendly and patient Director of Music of the cathedral, Prof. Janos Czifra.
It was new and unusual for us that dress rehearsal and concert were so close together. Not just that the work is demanding for the chorus, but it was also a lot to ask of the two young Japanese soloists, especially the first soprano, who did such an admirable job of mastering their parts with virtuosity twice in such a short time.
It was astounding how many people came to hear the concert. The cathedral was nearly full.
All in all, we spent some really grandiose days in Salzburg, and we lived through some really "magic moments" which will be remembered for a long time.
We would especially like to honor the dedication of the ladies of Cultours Europe in Salzburg. They took care of our well-being in an exemplary manner, especially Ms. Dagmar Elsenwenger.
