3rd Day / Berlin - Leipzig

clearly left its mark on the architecture of the town center. Around the turn of
the 19th to 20th century there was a hugh wave of construction which swept away
many of the open courtyards typical of the area and replaced them with breathtaking
exhibition palaces - the current arcades for which Leipzig is so well known.
Leipzig, the city of music, conjures up names like Johann Sebastian Bach, Felix
Mendelssohn, Robert Schumann…….
Enjoy a guided walking tour of Leipzig with a licensed English speaking guide
includes St. Thomas Church, where J.S. Bach is buried, and St. Nicholas Church,
which played an important role in the peaceful revolution of 1989.

4th Day / Leipzig - Dresden

of porcelain, based on extensive local deposits of china clay (kaolin) and potter's
clay (potter's earth). Meissen porcelain was the first high quality porcelain to be
produced outside of China.

museum. The porcelain museum is one of a kind and known throughout the world for
its Meissen collection. In the museum you will discover Meissen® from a new

After enjoying the world famous and beautiful pieces of porcelain meet your
chauffeur and continue your trip to Dresden, one of the loveliest cities of central
Germany.
Welcome to the so-called "German Florence at the River Elbe".
Dresden has a long history as the capital and royal residence for the Electors and
Kings of Saxony, who for centuries furnished the city with cultural and artistic
splendour. After being destroyed in the 2nd world war, the baroque city centre is
now fully reconstructed. Richard Wagner had a number of his works performed for the
first time in Dresden. During that period, other famous artists such as Ernst
Ludwig Kirchner, Otto Dix, Oskar Kokoschka, Richard Strauss, Gottfried Semper and
Gret Palucca were active in the city. Dresden is also home to several important art
collections, world-famous musical ensembles, and significant buildings from various
architectural periods.
Enjoy a guided walking tour of Dresden. You will see the city centre, the VW
factory, the three castles next to the Elbe river, the exclusive residential area
Blasewitz, and the newer part of the baroque bourgeois and Wilhelmina style

5th Day / Dresden - Eisenach

Head towards Weimar, one of Germany's greatest cultural treasures.

Weimar is located in the province of Thuringia, north of the Thüringer Wald, east
of Erfurt, and southwest of Halle and Leipzig. The oldest record of the city dates
from the year 899. Weimar was the capital of the Duchy of Saxe-Weimar. The city
also gives its name to the Weimar Republic. Weimar is one of the great cultural
sites of Europe, having been home to such luminaries as Bach, Goethe, Schiller, and
Herder. It has been a site of pilgrimage for the German intelligentsia since Goethe
first moved to Weimar in the late 18th century. The tombs of Goethe and Schiller as
well as their archives, may be found in the city. It is around the city of Weimar
that Goethe's famous 1809 Elective Affinities is based.

right in the heart of Germany. The city of Martin Luther, the birthplace of Johann
Sebastian Bach.
Visit the Wartburg castle, one of the most important edifices of German history and
see the room where Martin Luther spent the last years of his life in
seclusion.

6th Day / Eisenach - Ruedesheim
Breakfast and check out.

Travel from Eisenach to Ruedesheim, famous for its wines and vineyards. The
romantic town at the river Rhine is located in the wine-growing region of
Rheingau.

Visit "Siegfried's Mechanical Music Cabinet" in Rüdesheim, a museum for self -
playing instruments!

Stroll through charming downtown with its famous Drosselgasse. Visit the Niederwald
monument, the castle Niederwald, the Asbach-Uralt distillery or the Hildegard's

7th Day / Ruedesheim - Heidelberg

the longest and one of the most attractive pedestrian zones in Europe.

Goethe, Heidelberg became a magnet for the 19th century German Romantics. They
created the myth that is Heidelberg, immortalizing the city in poetry, music and
painting, and turning it into the most celebrated of European cities.
